Wednesday Evening Adult Bible Study — “God’s Purpose Bible Study” has been held nearly every Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. for the last 3 years! Workbooks span a 12-week timeframe and we are currently covering Corinthians. The location varies from home to home, followed by dessert and coffee (decaf, of course!) Led by a Disciple Bible Study-Trained facilitator, Roger Lehman, this group meets on Sunday afternoons from 2–4 p.m. “Bad Girls of the Bible” Study — this is a relatively new bible study led by Kim Grant on Monday evenings at her home. It focuses on how stories of the women from Jesus’ day relate to current times. Written by Liz Curtis Higgs, the study book is both entertaining and provocative. Vacation Bible School (VBS) — held during the evenings 1 week during the summer, VBS is a great time for kids (preschool to kindergarten) to have fun and gain exposure to the bible. The theme for VBS 2008 was “Power Lab— Discovering Jesus’ Miraculous Power”. We had a record number of children last year, and look forward to the same this year! Children’s Summer Program — For children 1st thru 5th grade, our Summer Program starts in June and takes place M-TH mornings for 8 weeks. Last year the children planted a vegetable garden, made crafts, played games, and went on field trips to Magic Mountain and Tree Haven Campground where they swam and grilled hotdogs! Our summer program provides children with a safe, yet fun, environment in which to spend part of their summer vacation. (2009 dates and times to come). Wednesday Night Youth Group (6:30 pm) — Every Wednesday night, young people (6th - 12th grade) gather at the church for a meal and to learn from scripture, and have fun! Occasionally, outings are planned for roller skating, bowling or other offsite activities. ♦ FELLOWSHIP and OUTREACH The dictionary defines fellowship as “Companionship, friendly association…a mutual sharing, as of experience, activity, interest, etc.” At Church of the Saviour (COS) we define it as “having fun together”.
